If you’re a creator, there has never been a better time to enter The Sandbox!

On November 3rd 2023, The Sandbox fully opened the metaverse! This significant milestone allows creators to instantly launch their experiences on their LAND and The Sandbox Map, thereby streamlining the process and further democratizing the metaverse for user-generated content (UGC). This evolution not only accelerates the creation of content but also opens up new avenues for monetization. Here are three use cases to leverage in 2024:

1- Create and Sell Your Assets on the marketplace:

December marks an exciting time for voxel artists in The Sandbox, as the marketplace opens up to all creators, alongside with CATALYSTs: the key to minting and supercharging your ASSETs. Utilizing the no-code VoxEdit tool, creators can now craft and sell their assets from Entity for creators to build stunning experiences, Equipment for player’s Avatars which can be used and showcased in both single and multiplayers experiences, to exclusive Collectible Packs, all accessible from the marketplace, the experiences page or in game redirection. A limited supply effectively enhances exclusivity and desire, while also ensuring the quality of assets for the community. Thanks to the migration to Polygon, this process is cost-effective, with lower gas fees. This development not only facilitates the sale of unique digital assets but also fosters a vibrant market of creative content within The Sandbox ecosystem.

Example 1 — Entities for game creators: A talented voxel artist creates a pack of fantasy-themed non playable characters and props using VoxEdit. These collectibles, named “Mystical Guardians” feature unique equipment designs like dragons, wizards, and enchanted creatures, each crafted with intricate details and unique abilities like speed or power. After creating these assets, the artist lists them on The Sandbox’s marketplace. Players looking to add a magical touch to their experiences can purchase these assets, providing revenue for the artist and letting users wear their Mystical Guardians equipment in game.

Example 2 Digital Fashion : A fashion designer creates a set of cool outfit pieces to be used in social experiences (his own or the ones from others). The purpose is clearly for players to show off! These pieces of clothes might be matching real life clothes of his collection or phygital reward for owning real luxury clothes?

Because these clothes are in fact vanity equipment (without impact in game), the creator can mint them with common catalysts or use other catalysts for fame (but not necessary at this stage).

The value here lies in the brand and in the creativity.

Here is a common HDOL Cap created by Shakesbeer and a rare WMG Pop Out Cap created by Sandbox.

Example 3 — Weapons, shield, armor and other magical items boosting players: A game designer wants to provide a set related to a difficult game, these pieces of equipment could be put to sold, triggered by a quest, by another NFT (with NFT sensor), or rewarded on discord… It does not matter, in all cases their improved Power, Defense or Speed attributes will help gamers reach to the next level, beat the boss or keep fighting waves (for example).

Because these NFT must boost stats of players, the creator will be willing to use uncommon, rare, epic or legendary catalysts to mint them. Here is an Epic Skull Sword created by Jangis, boosting power by 62.

2- Gate Your Experience with NFT:

This feature empowers LAND owners to control access to playable content through NFTs. Grant access to an Experience, allow NFT holders to teleport to secret areas with special gameplay in an Experience, or both! Unique NFTs can be sold or distributed as passes. This system allows for varied access levels, VIP areas, and enhanced utility for NFT holders, thus adding exclusivity to the user experience.

Example: Imagine a creator who has developed a unique adventure game within their LAND. They can create an exclusive NFT pass named “Explorer’s Key.” This pass allows holders to access hidden areas, special quests, or even early access to new content. The creator can sell a limited number of these keys. Players who own the “Explorer’s Key” NFT would feel a sense of exclusivity and privilege, enhancing their engagement within the game and potentially outside of the game (Discord role, IRL events, exclusive merch, etc.)

3 - Utilize NFT Sensor for Customized Experiences:

NFT Sensor is designed to recognize specific equipment alongside with your avatars, to grant exclusive access or benefits to players holding particular NFTs: The Sandbox assets, Official Avatar Collections (e.g. The Doggies) and Bridged Collections (e.g. Bored Ape Yacht Club). For instance, a creator can design an elaborate maze game where only holders of the “Mystic Key” NFT can enter certain secret passages or unlock special quests. Alternatively, certain narratives or storylines in an experience could be exclusively available to players who possess a specific NFT, adding a layer of personalized storytelling. This tool can also be used to give NFT holders in-game advantages such as bonus power-ups or special abilities, enhancing their gameplay experience. By integrating game mechanics with NFT ownership, creators can add a unique and dynamic element to their experiences, further incentivizing the acquisition and trading of NFTs within The Sandbox ecosystem. This approach not only enriches the player experience but also adds a new dimension to the utility of NFTs, thereby creating new opportunities for monetization and engagement.

Example: Imagine a creator in The Sandbox developing an immersive fantasy RPG called “Legends of the Cursed Kingdom.” In this game, they integrate the NFT Sensor Component to enhance the gameplay for specific NFT holders. 1- Exclusive Area Access: The creator designs a hidden realm within the game, “The Enchanted Forest,” accessible only to holders of the “Emerald Dragon” NFT. This NFT acts as a magical key. When a player with this NFT in their wallet approaches the forest’s entrance, the NFT Sensor detects it and grants them access. Inside, players discover unique quests and rare creatures not found anywhere else in the game. 2- Unlocked Quests and Narratives: Another aspect involves a special narrative arc, “The Lost Chronicles of Eldoria.” Players possessing the “Eldoria Scroll” NFT can unlock this storyline. The NFT Sensor identifies holders of this NFT and triggers exclusive quests and story elements, offering a richer, deeper narrative experience. 3- Bonus Power-Ups and Game Mechanics: For enhanced gameplay, holders of the “Knight’s Honor” NFT receive special power-ups, like increased strength or speed, whenever they engage in battles. The NFT Sensor automatically activates these perks in combat scenarios, giving these players a strategic advantage
