Interview with ‘Cube Entertainment’ in K-verse
Please briefly introduce yourself.
Hello, I’m Ahn Woo Hyung, CEO of Cube Entertainment. I have worked in the entertainment and marketing industry and tried to promote Korean content and brands. I believe the entertainment industry should thoroughly prepare for the future Web 3.0 era. Therefore, we have also entered this new blockchain area. The goal is to expand our IP and lead K-content business through the open metaverse.
Tell us more about your company, and how you discovered The Sandbox?
Cube Entertainment is one of the representative entertainment agencies in Korea. We have K-pop artists; BTOB, Pentagon, (G)I-DLE, and LIGHTSUM, as well as actors and entertainers; Park Mi Sun, Lee Sang Jun, Lee Eun Ji, and You Sun Ho. Along with establishing AniCube early this year, we decided to build our own space in The Sandbox under the theme of ‘K-culture’ and introduce Korean culture and brands to the world. The relationship between The Sandbox and Cube Entertainment is more than just a partnership. We consistently communicate and collaborate to provide diverse Korean content to users.
What are you planning to build on your LAND? What kinds of experiences can we look forward to?
We plan to introduce ‘K-village’ as the first Korean complex cultural space in the metaverse. Along with the meaning of ‘Korean Village,’ it has formed a business model on K-culture and partnerships with various Korean companies and brands representing K-culture. K-Village will provide enjoyable content utilizing the colorful Korean culture and IPs to the world. The Past, Present, and Future of ‘K-Village’ seek to embody the significant landmark within Seoul and show the colorful Korean culture that preserves Korea’s traditional features while keeping a futuristic lifestyle.
How do you hope to see your neighborhood (both your LAND and its surroundings) evolve in the future?
We hope ‘K-village’ will be a hub where the global community can enjoy Korean culture. Currently, the space in K-village is in the form of the ‘Seoul’ city, but it will grow bigger to include more districts and regions of Korea. We look forward to various Korean-themed content being produced and spread to the metaverse.
What do you think is the most exciting aspect of this LAND sale?
We prepared two types of Premium NFTs as this LAND Sale is the first event after the K-village has been revealed. These NFTs show the beauty of Korea. One is a jewelry box including Gwanghwamun, one of the landmarks representing K-village. The other one is Hahoe Mask, a traditional Korean mask.
In which community can users stay tuned for Cube Entertainment’s content in The Sandbox?
Please follow AniCube’s Twitter, Instagram, and Discord for new updates about K-village and AniCube LAND. We will keep you updated with many events and collaborations in The Sandbox.
Please feel free to tell us if you have anything more you want to say to the users.
‘K-Village’ is now ready to introduce Korean culture to global users through a new metaverse space, The Sandbox. In K-village, you can discover traditional Korean culture and futuristic lifestyle in the Past, Present, and Future zone. You don’t need to take a long-hour flight to Korea anymore. You can meet Seoul and Korean culture in K-village LAND in The Sandbox.
