The NFT Marketplace Is Now Live on Polygon!

Here’s everything you need to know about minting and selling your NFTs with lower gas fees!

Today, with the launch of The Sandbox Marketplace on Polygon, we are further empowering creators and increasing accessibility for our community to monetize their ASSETs with reduced gas fees!

TL;DR:

Anyone can mint on the new Polygon marketplace with CATALYSTs
Fees are greatly reduced thanks to the Polygon Network
Introducing a secondary market for creators: NFT owners can now also resell ASSETs they didn’t create on our marketplace

Opening the Marketplace to Everyone

Now that the metaverse is open, we are committed to bringing more opportunities to our creators. In another step toward this goal, the marketplace is now accessible for anyone who owns CATALYSTs, allowing them to use these tokens to mint their ASSETs.

If you don’t have CATALYTs yet, here is how you can get some:

The Sandbox will be launching CATALYSTs via distribution to ecosystem contributors:

🔹 December 14, 2023: All LAND owners will be gifted CATALYSTs. A snapshot determining all eligible LAND owners occurred on December 11, 2023, at 12 p.m. UTC.
🔹LAND Owners who complete the Winter Event requirements will receive some CATALYSTs in addition to their SAND rewards.

What About Your Current ASSETs?

If you are wondering about the fate of the assets you already own, read on to find out.

If you already have ASSETs on the Ethereum chain:

Minted assets (inventory ASSETs):

Your ASSETs on Ethereum will still appear in your inventory and in the Marketplace (and will still be usable in Game)
You will be able to bridge assets from the Ethereum to the Polygon layer in the future. Stay tuned for more information coming next year.

Non-minted assets (Workspace ASSETs):

Equipment will be migrated to match the new structure as follows:
Gems will be “converted” into spent attribute points.
MAGIC and LUCK have no impact in Game and are converted into DEFENSE and SPEED respectively.
Non-equipment: Gems (and attributes) are removed from non-equipment ASSETs as creators gain full control of behavior and components such as speed, defense, and health from Game Maker.

Reduced Gas Fees and Improved User Interface

As is the case for our other contracts on Polygon, gas fees are greatly reduced on our new Polygon marketplace. Also, note that The Sandbox covers a monthly total of TEN Polygon transaction fees for each user across our ecosystem.

The marketplace’s user interface has also been revamped, complete with:

✅A new asset upload flow
✅ The implementation of new ASSET moderation in their name and description
✅Improved Marketplace UI/UX itself (filters, etc)
✅Revamped ASSET cards
✅New workspace ASSET status (published/not published)

How to Buy Your First NFT on Polygon

Log into your Sandbox account.
Make sure your wallet is connected to the Polygon network.
Visit our marketplace and apply filer to list Polygon ASSETs.
Select the NFT you are interested in.
Click on the BUY button.
Make sure you have enough SAND on Polygon.
Sign the transaction on your wallet.
You are the proud owner of a new NFT on Polygon!

On the left of the screen, you can further filter by category: entity, equipment, wearable, and art, or simply browse through the 100+ NFTs. Once you’ve found the NFT you want to purchase, select the number of copies you want and click on the buy button. A pop-up window should appear in your wallet to invite you to finalize the transaction. Your transaction should be successful, granted that you have enough SAND and MATIC on the Polygon network for gas fees and that enough copies remain at the time of your purchase.

You are now the proud owner of a new NFT! Congratulations! You can find it in your inventory under the “Me” section.

Keep in mind that there could be a slight delay between the time of purchase and the time the NFT appears on your inventory. This is perfectly normal. You can verify that the transaction was successful by checking it on Polygonscan.
