Welcome to Alpha Season 5, featuring Jurassic World! The season is set on a new Jurassic World-inspired island with six thrilling regions and kicks off on March 31 at 2 p.m. UTC.

This exciting six-week platform event features over 40 unique experiences, with content from over 20 partner brands alongside some of the best user-generated content. We’re bringing you an island of diverse adventures, challenges, and up to $1 million USD in rewards!

Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to The Sandbox, this guide has everything you need — from gameplay tips to reward opportunities.

1. Alpha Season 5 Content Featuring Jurassic World

Congratulations! You’ve been invited to explore the wildlands of Alpha Season 5.

This island amusement park plays host to the legendary Jurassic World franchise and a lineup of iconic brands and personalities, including Atari, ATEEZ, Deepak Chopra, The British Museum, Care Bears, Terminator: Dark Fate, and more!

Travel to six distinct regions of this lush landscape, each teeming with thrills, surprises, and chances to gather coveted Ethos Points (EP) and climb the leaderboard.

Pack your gear, gather your friends, and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime!

1a Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve

In the first-ever Jurassic World-inspired experience in The Sandbox, you’ll become a staff member in the Dinosaur Protection Group tasked with maintaining a dinosaur sanctuary in Arizona. It’s up to you to explore, collect resources, and ensure the safety of the park’s prehistoric inhabitants.

With dynamic events like sandstorms and wildfires, randomized challenges, a day/night cycle, a vibrant ecosystem to manage, and new weekly quests, every visit to the Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve is a fresh and exciting adventure shaped by the choices you make.

By fulfilling your park duties, you’ll earn Jurassic Points (JPts), which can be used to make upgrades to the sanctuary or grow your Jurassic World Dinosaur Eggs. Eventually, the eggs will hatch into full-grown dinosaurs, which you can keep as a digital collectible in your wallet or place in your own experience on The Sandbox Map.

1b. The Alpha Season 5 Hub

The Alpha Season 5 Hub opens on the first day of the season and remains open throughout, offering a social space for players to gather, have fun, and claim their SAND rewards via the Partner Passes and LAND Owner Hub Passes.

Starting your journey in the Alpha Season 5 Hub allows you to quickly earn EP by completing various quests. Interact with characters in the Alpha Season 5 Hub, as they can provide tips and tricks to help guide your season journey. You can teleport to various Alpha Season 5 experiences as they begin to open during the season.

1c. Introducing Abilities

Alpha Season 5 introduces three exciting new Abilities: Fly, Double Jump, and Air Dance.

Abilities will be activated using NFTs that players can equip in certain experiences. Abilities allow players to travel more quickly and efficiently through experiences and obstacle courses. Players will learn more about abilities and how to use them in the Alpha Season 5 Hub. Check back tomorrow for a more in-depth article about Abilities.

2. Alpha Season 5 Progression

2a. Battle Pass

You can track your Alpha Season 5 progression through the Battle Pass. The Battle Pass consists of 30 levels, each unlocking an exclusive reward.

Those who purchase the Alpha Pass will unlock the premium rewards inside the Battle Pass. These rewards include additional SAND and bonus NFTs.

Alpha Passes are listed for sale on The Sandbox Marketplace on Mondays and Tuesdays at 2PM UTC. Players may only purchase the Alpha Pass once.

Please note:

We DO NOT recommend purchasing the Alpha Pass on the secondary market, as it may already be stamped as used. Used Alpha Passes are not eligible for rewards, and The Sandbox is NOT responsible for any secondary market sales.

2b. Ethos Points

Ethos Points (EP) are the experience points used in The Sandbox during Alpha Seasons. EP is used to level up on the leaderboard, unlocking rewards such as new NFTs and SAND. Players can earn EP by completing quests, which grant varying amounts of EP depending on their type: Normal, Time Trail, Premium, Hardcore, or Adventure.

You’ll need to accumulate a specific amount of EP to reach each level. Level 1 requires 40 total EP, level 2 requires 70 total EP, and so on, up to level 30 (4,000 EP).

2c. Quests

🟨 Normal Quests

Normal Quests are marked with a yellow exclamation point and make up the majority of quests available in Alpha Season 5. These quests are generally easy, quick to complete, and will comprise most of your gameplay experience.

Each Normal Quest rewards 1 EP.

🟨 Time Trial Quests

Time Trial Quests are found in racing games and are meant to test your speed and parkour skills. While they are marked with a yellow exclamation point like Normal Quests, they offer higher EP rewards based on your performance:

Gold — 6 EP
Silver — 3 EP
Bronze — 1 EP

If you achieve Gold on your first attempt, you’ll receive the EP for Silver and Bronze as well, totaling 10 EP. However, if your time falls below the Bronze threshold, you won’t receive any EP. You can replay to improve your score.

🟦 Adventure Quests

There are 20 Adventure Quests in total, each rewarding 20 EP upon completion. Since they provide a significant amount of EP, it’s recommended that players prioritize these quests to level up faster. Adventure Quests are marked with blue exclamation points for easy identification.

🟪 Hardcore Quests

Hardcore Quests are more challenging than others, but each grants you 10 EP. If you are up for a challenge and want to test your skills, look out for the purple exclamation points.

🟧 Premium Quests

All experiences in Alpha Season 5 will have a Premium Area that is NFT-gated and contains a Premium Quest. Completing these quests allows you to progress even faster on the Battle Pass. Each experience has one premium quest worth 25 EP upon completion. They are marked with an orange exclamation mark.

To access Premium Areas, you’ll need to obtain a Category Key. Category Keys unlock access to Premium Areas inside all experiences within a specific park region. There are six park regions on The Wildlands Island in Alpha Season 5, with each playing host to six or seven experiences.

Category Keys can be obtained via The Sandbox Marketplace for 10 SAND.

You can also win Category Keys in the weekly leaderboard raffle. Those with more EP will have a higher chance of winning. Keep in mind that you can only win a Category Key once.

Note: Your leaderboard ranking doesn’t guarantee a raffle win — it only increases your chances.

2d. Jurassic World Dinosaur Eggs

During Alpha Season 5, Jurassic World Dinosaur Eggs offer a special EP bonus for players who grow their dinosaurs to adulthood inside Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve. Premium Eggs can be purchased or earned on the Battle Pass by reaching level 2 on the Alpha Pass track.

Premium Eggs grant more EP, with all Premium Eggs granting enough EP to complete more than half of Alpha Season 5’s Battle Pass.

Please note:

You can purchase only one Jurassic World Dinosaur Egg per species
You can not earn EP if you purchase an adult Jurassic World Dinosaur Egg on the secondary market
EP is earned from the action of transforming your Jurassic World Dinosaur Egg in the game
Each dinosaur species grants a different amount of EP based on its tier (see above)

Jurassic World Innovation Center Premium Digital Collectible

Jurassic World Master Dinosaur Owners who grow all five Jurassic World Dinosaur Eggs into full adults earn an exclusive Innovation Center Premium digital collectible to display their collection. Modeled after the Innovation Center from the Jurassic World franchise, this Premium NFT allows you to showcase your Jurassic World Collection.

2e. Avatars

Passive Bonus

Avatar Owners passively earn bonus EP each week based on the rarest Avatar in their wallet.

For example:

If you own one Common Avatar, one Rare, and one Epic, your highest Avatar rank is Epic, and you receive 50 EP per week
If you own three Legendary Avatars, your highest Avatar rank is Legendary, and you receive 160 EP per week

The weekly bonus EP for Avatar ownership will be distributed every Tuesday at 2 p.m. UTC. Don’t own an Avatar? You can purchase one here and start earning!

New Collection

During the season, we will be releasing new avatar collections that will grant a one-time 150 EP per collection. One such collection is already live: ATEEZ! Owners earn a weekly EP boost based on their Avatar’s rarity (up to 160 EP per week) during Alpha Season 5.

Avatar Transformation

There will also be transformation events along the way. Transforming your Avatar during Alpha Season 5 will grant you 100 additional EP on top of the dedicated event rewards.

2f. Bonus Ethos Points

While completing quests within season experiences is the primary way to collect EP, Alpha Season 5 also provides several other ways to gain bonus EP and level up even faster.

Experience of the Day

Each day, when a new experience is released, it becomes the Experience of the Day for its first 24 hours. Completing a quest in the experience during this period will grant you a bonus of 15 EP. If multiple experiences are released, they are all considered the Experience of the Day and will each reward you 15 EP.

Social Challenge

Each day, a new Social Challenge will be available. The Social Challenge will prompt you to visit a specific experience, find a landmark, take a screenshot of your Avatar next to it, and post it to X. You will earn 10 additional EP for each Social Challenge you complete!

To participate in the challenge, make sure to connect your X account to The Sandbox so you can easily post directly from the dashboard.

Check back daily to complete the Daily Challenges and earn bonus EP to level up faster and gain more rewards!

Refer Friends

You can earn a bonus EP for inviting friends to play Alpha Season 5. For each KYC’d friend that completes level 10 in the Battle Pass, you will receive an extra 50 EP (up to a max of 10 friends). You can stack up to 500 EP with the friend referral system, so invite your friends to play!

You can find your unique referral link on the Summary page of the Alpha Season 5 dashboard on the website.

DAO

In Alpha Season 5, users holding at least 5 SAND or one LAND can delegate their Voting Power to one of the 12 delegates here and earn 25 EP. (The reward can only be earned once, and will be distributed weekly, depending on when you delegate.)

3. Alpha Season 5 Rewards

3a. Alpha Pass Owners Rewards

Alpha Pass Owners can earn up to 110 SAND by reaching level 30 of the Battle Pass. This includes:

10 SAND from the free rewards of the Battle Pass through level 10.
40 SAND from the Alpha Pass track.
60 SAND from the six Partner Passes earned on the Battle Pass’s Alpha Pass track. These are used in the Alpha Season 5 Hub to unlock 10 SAND each.

Alpha Pass holders also get a free Common Jurassic World Dinosaur Egg for completing level 2 of their Battle Pass.

3b. Avatar Owners Rewards

In April, Avatar Owners will receive the ultimate ranger ensemble designed for those ready to explore Alpha Season 5. Meant to be paired with the Jurassic World Raptor and Triceratops helmets given away before and during the season, this set includes rugged, adventure-ready gear that’s perfect for navigating the dangers and wonders of The Wildlands.

3c. LAND Owner Community Goal

Owning LAND in The Sandbox allows you to create, customize, and monetize virtual experiences. As a LAND Owner, you gain access to exclusive opportunities, including potential revenue from in-game activity, collaborations with brands, and participation in the platform’s evolving ecosystem.

Additionally, LAND ownership enhances your influence within the ecosystem, allowing you to shape the future of The Sandbox by participating in the DAO while benefiting from the growing demand for digital real estate.

In Alpha Season 5, LAND Owners earn bonus rewards based on the Ethos Points gained by the community.

There are four community milestones, ranging from three million to 12 million collective EP. When each milestone is reached, LAND Owners can claim LAND Owner Hub Pass NFTs, which unlock access to exclusive rooms in the Alpha Season 5 Hub.

Each room holds a SAND Chest with 25 SAND, meaning LAND Owners can earn up to an additional 100 SAND throughout the season.

3c. Free Rewards From the Battle Pass

Additionally, any player who creates an account or logs in during Alpha Season 5 can claim a Jurassic World Triceratops Headpiece wearable digital collectible in their claim section for the duration of the season. This NFT will no longer be available once the season ends.

3e. Free NFTs in Each Experience

In Alpha Season 4, only experiences with Adventure Quests rewarded NFTs. However, in Alpha Season 5, every experience rewards an NFT! There are 44 NFT items to collect, so be sure to complete all the quests to claim yours on the Claims Page.

3f. Last Week SAND Raffle

On the last day of Alpha Season 5, 500 players will earn 500 SAND. The more EP gathered during the season, the higher your chance of winning. Earn EP until the last moment to optimize your chances of winning.
